Unlike most great directors, Stanley Kubrick didn't specialise in a specific genre. But however different each of his films are they all have one theme in common, dehumanisation. All Kubrickian films are an examination of the human condition under certain circumstances and environments. This list explores the specific moments in his films where it is the most hard hitting with dehumanisation.

Good find Tom. When you locate something useful, can you also write a quick summary on how you expect to use the source? This is important to save time in the next few weeks, and prepare the catalogue and script.
ReplyDeleteYou've had the go-ahead from the external moderator which is good. He also suggested using AI as your other non-Kubrick film. I think it makes sense, but have a look at secondary materials on this and see what you think. Have you seen it?
ReplyDeleteTom - as I indicated the last time we met before half term, I am getting concerned about how little there is on your blog. You have a deadline this week for the catalogue, and although I'm hoping you have more saved in draft, there is no evidence here that you are anywhere near meeting that deadline. We need to discuss this further today.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, you missed the draft catalogue deadine Tom, and I am still concerned that you are falling behind the point you need to be at in order to succeed. You must complete the draft catalogue this week, as I said last Tues. There is nothing posted here since Oct 17th - 3 weeks ago.
