The Shining was the film that really got me interested in the style of Stanley Kubrick, an example of what I think sets this apart from some of Stanley Kubrick's other films is that combining the common ambiguities of a Stanley Kubrick film with very well used horror film tropes makes any spectator very engaged and want to know the answers to the questions that are open to interpretation.

My personal favorite trademark of Stanley Kubrick is the questions that his films raise and don't give a conclusive answer to, they just encourage the viewer more to come up with their own interpretation which is ideal for a film to do. This list verbalises the confusions I had about his films that I've seen.

 A comedic but detailed comparison between the book and the film of The Shining, this is a source that I would potentially reject as it is more of a piece of entertainment and might not have enough information to be useful, but its a good resource for anyone who hasn't read the book.
